About the position

Peloton is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to serve as the on-site quality representative at our Linden, New Jersey location. The primary goal of this role is to enhance the assembly operation of high-quality products through continuous improvement of processes, product quality, and the systems that support them. In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that both incoming materials and finished products meet customer requirements and engineering specifications. Your problem-solving skills will be essential in addressing quality-related challenges and ensuring compliance with quality standards. As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will supervise part of the quality team and provide quality support to guarantee that products are manufactured to a high standard while adhering to quality and engineering guidelines. You will lead and document quality efforts for the manufacturing process, analyzing data from the Customer Acceptance Lab, First Pass Yield, and Non-conformance reports to meet established quality metrics. Your role will also involve investigating and resolving quality-related issues, including customer complaints, by collaborating with various departments and employing problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Kaizen, DMAIC, and the 5 WHY technique. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and improving quality control documents, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and inspection checklists. Regular audits of processes and products will be conducted to ensure compliance with SOPs and to identify areas for improvement. You will work closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Field Quality, and Supplier Quality teams to drive root cause identification activities aimed at enhancing product quality through data analysis and corrective actions. Ongoing assessments of product compliance and controls will be part of your responsibilities, along with reporting quality performance to leadership as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide quality support to ensure high-quality product manufacturing in compliance with quality and engineering standards.
  • Lead, assist, support, and document the quality effort for the manufacturing process by analyzing Customer Acceptance Lab, First Pass Yield, and Non-conformance data to meet quality metrics.
  • Investigate and correct quality-related issues, including customer complaints, through collaboration with other departments using problem-solving methodologies like 8D, Kaizen, DMAIC, and 5 WHY.
  • Create, implement, and improve quality control documents such as SOPs and inspection checklists.
  • Perform regular process and product audits to ensure product quality and SOP conformance, identifying areas for improvement and driving them to completion.
  • Assist in implementing policies, operating procedures, quality systems, and programs to ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support to meet product quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Field Quality, and Supplier Quality teams to drive root cause identification activities to improve product quality through data analysis and corrective actions.
  • Perform FQA/OBA on an ongoing basis to assess product compliance and controls.
  • Report quality performance to leadership as needed.

Requirements

  • Education and/or relevant professional experience in Manufacturing and Quality Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in assembly manufacturing quality or production environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and root cause analysis skills with experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, kaizen, and formalized 8D processes.
  • Ability to lead others through the quality process.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong quality mindset.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 is a plus.

  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
