About the position

As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer at Meta, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing manufacturing and quality plans for various cabling products used in Meta's data centers. This includes working with copper, single mode fibre, multimode fibre cabling, patch panels, cable runways, cable enclosures, and connectors. You will also be responsible for the manufacturing and quality plans for IDC products such as Gen. sets, Hot Aisle, Racks, UPS, PDUs, Busways, and Load banks. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating manufacturing processes by applying your knowledge of design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. In this position, you will participate in design reviews, providing valuable feedback for design for manufacturability (DFM), design for testability (DFT), yield improvements, and quality control. You will also audit manufacturing sites to assess suppliers' capabilities and implement best practices in manufacturing and quality. A significant part of your role will involve driving Lean projects aimed at improving manufacturing and data center processes, eliminating waste, reducing costs, and enhancing yield. You will provide technical leadership and expertise within the supply chain teams throughout the hardware product lifecycle. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring that product and process quality targets are met by collaborating with engineering teams to design test methods, establish standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives with manufacturers and equipment providers. You will analyze and plan workflows, space requirements, and equipment layouts to improve manufacturing efficiency, and prepare comprehensive product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends in manufacturing, field, and RMA data. Familiarity with quality control techniques such as statistical process control (SPC), measurement system analysis (MSA), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) will be essential for your success in this role. Additionally, you will need to be knowledgeable about product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, as well as quality management systems like ISO 9001 or similar standards.
