About the position

As a Manufacturing Robotics Engineer for the Missiles and Fire Control team in Ocala, Florida, you will play a crucial role in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes that leverage automation technologies. Your primary focus will be on creating production layouts and procedures that maximize both quality and efficiency. This position involves a hands-on approach to the design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of manufacturing tools and electromechanical systems, which include automated components such as robots, conveyors, vision systems, and programmable controllers. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire life cycle of automated processes and equipment, from initial design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrades. Staying informed about new developments in automation will be essential for facilitating continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will provide guidance to engineering teams regarding design concepts and specification requirements, ensuring that equipment and manufacturing techniques are utilized effectively. Compliance with regulations is a critical aspect of your role, as you will ensure that all processes and procedures adhere to industry standards. Responsibilities

  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts utilizing automation to maximize quality and efficiency.
  • Support and participate in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of manufacturing tools and electromechanical systems.
  • Manage the life cycle of automated processes and equipment from design to implementation to maintenance and upgrades.
  • Stay informed of new developments in automation to facilitate continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Prior experience programming collaborative robots/experience with robotics.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline.
  • Must be a US Citizen due to facility requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Programming PLC's & HMI's.
  • Assemble and wire industrial control panels according to engineering schematics and diagrams.
  • Experience programming machine vision systems.
  • Understanding of ethernet with TCP IP.
  • Modbus communication.
  • Proficient in simulation software - RoboGuide, RoboDK, Visual Components.
