About the position

The Manufacturing Set Up Technician (Softpack) is responsible for setting up, maintaining, operating, testing, and inspecting production equipment in compliance with FDA, GMP, and ISO 13485 standards. This role aims to minimize scrap generation, promote workplace safety, and ensure product quality while assisting in the training of personnel and optimizing production processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, operate, test, and inspect production equipment according to established standards.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as assigned by the supervisor.
• Adhere to plant policies, department EHS rules, GMPs, ISO 13485 regulations, and Good Housekeeping procedures.
• Complete all pertinent paperwork related to the finished product according to manufacturing procedures.
• Prepare and maintain required maintenance equipment records.
• Use precision measuring instruments to perform dimensional and physical inspections.
• Interpret engineering drawings and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality standards.
• Select products for inspection evaluation at specified stages in the production process.
• Perform various inspections per required characteristics and report any unusual circumstances to the supervisor.
• Transport hazardous waste to accumulation areas and complete annual hazardous waste refresher training.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year certificate from college or technical school (machinist, engineering technology) or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
• 3-4 years of medical device manufacturing related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills with Windows-based programs.
