About the position

The Manufacturing Supervisor at Graphic Packaging International is responsible for directing and coordinating day-to-day shift activities, providing leadership and supervision to subordinates, and serving as a link between direct reports and upper management. This role involves planning production operations, ensuring safety and quality standards, and facilitating team development while aligning with the company's operational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate day-to-day shift activities.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to subordinates.
  • Plan production operations and establish priorities for manufacturing products.
  • Review production and operating reports to resolve operational issues.
  • Ensure equipment condition and department housekeeping are maintained.
  • Research, compile, and prepare reports for management.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and lead safety initiatives.
  • Ensure product quality and production efficiencies meet established standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of support resources such as quality and maintenance.
  • Participate in the work of subordinates to facilitate productivity.
  • Conduct personnel actions such as performance evaluations and discipline.
  • Administer and communicate work procedures and company policies to subordinates.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in a supervisory role in manufacturing.
  • Experience operating hand jacks, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and clamp trucks.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a converting facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of roll stock cutting machines, printing presses, die cutting machines, and straight-line gluers preferred.
  • Excellent attendance and ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP and MS Office.
