About the position

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer - Americas is an entry-level position focused on creating, supporting, and sustaining manufacturing systems data, machine data, and routings for the production of our products. This role involves analyzing, developing, creating, testing, and implementing changes to process and manufacturing master data to enhance the performance of our BAC manufacturing facilities. The engineer will communicate across various levels, from business functional leaders to equipment OEMs and software/system developers, ensuring effective collaboration and information flow. In this hybrid role, the engineer will engage in both project and system technical work, coordinating with people and projects while completing a diverse range of tasks with minimal supervision. The position requires independent work as well as collaboration within project teams. Key partners include Regional Product, Process, Technology, and Systems Engineers, along with Manufacturing Engineers in the plants. The engineer will also interact with the Global Manufacturing team and peers from other regions to ensure alignment and support. The principal accountabilities of this role include creating CAM/NC programs for various materials, maintaining Manufacturing Master Data and Routings in an ERP System (SAP), and providing programming and part routing support to BAC manufacturing facilities. The engineer will also work on material routing and program updates, resolve routing change requests, and provide technical support for Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operational Excellence departments. This position requires travel to BAC manufacturing facilities or jobsites to investigate and resolve programming and routing issues as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Create CAM/NC programs for parts and tool path requirements for sheet metal, pipe, and other materials.
  • Create/Maintain Manufacturing Master Data and Routings in an ERP System (SAP).
  • Recognize and recommend possible solutions for potential CAD/CAM program issues.
  • Provide programming and part routing support to BAC manufacturing facilities on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work on material routing and program updates required from process and product changes.
  • Understand the data flow for establishing and updating NC programs within the ERP system (SAP).
  • Resolve routing changes requests on BAC materials.
  • Travel periodically to BAC manufacturing facilities or jobsites to investigate and resolve programming and/or routing issues.
  • Provide technical support for Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operational Excellence departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering/Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Information/Operational Technology, or a relevant field required.
  • 3 years minimum programming experience working as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong CAD / CAM programming skills in related work environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in functional aspects of ERP/MRP.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Inventor, Radan, BySoft, SAP, Highly Variable product designs, Sheet Metal, and SharePoint.
  • Complex and versatile programming knowledge for different languages and hardware uses.
  • Willingness to take on non-traditional tasks, roles, responsibilities, and challenges needed to accomplish goals and objectives.
