About the position

The Manufacturing Technician role at OraSure Technologies involves operating equipment for the assembly of medical diagnostic tests during the 2nd shift, which runs from 4 PM to 2:30 AM, Monday through Thursday. This position is crucial for ensuring the quality and efficiency of production processes in a laboratory environment, contributing to the company's mission of improving global health and wellness through innovative diagnostic solutions.

Responsibilities

• Operate semi-automated and automated equipment in the production area at a sufficient rate and quality level.
• Perform on-line inspection of all components/parts produced and take corrective action as necessary.
• Complete all paperwork and equipment logbooks, reviewing other operators' paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
• Responsible for set-up and shutdown of equipment, collaborating with the maintenance department to identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Provide cross-training to operators on all pieces of equipment in the production area.
• Follow all GMP and company safety regulations and guidelines.
• Assist in validation of equipment and contribute to development and manufacturing process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma; Associates or Bachelors degree strongly preferred.
• 1-3 years of previous manufacturing/production work experience.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English and strong mathematics skills.
• Windows-based computer skills required; familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable.
• Ability to use calculator, balances, and measuring equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude for general maintenance of equipment is required.
• Experience with GMP/ISO manufacturing operations is required.
