About the position

JANA, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Technician/Wire Harness Assembler to join their team in Universal City, Texas. The role involves assembling wire harnesses according to FAA and OEM instructions, ensuring compliance with best practices. The technician will work closely with other assemblers and report to the Manager, focusing on quality and precision in the assembly process.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory parts and tools and organize work flow.
  • Cut and mark wire using laser wire marker, strip wire, terminate wire and assemble connectors.
  • Lay-up wire harnesses on form boards to match drawings, sleeve, tag and tie wire harnesses.
  • Operate a drill press, use riveting devices, use tools to secure fasteners.
  • Use a heat gun to shrink various materials and sweat solder wire shields.
  • Conduct general visual inspections of parts and assemblies, perform electrical conductivity and circuit integrity tests.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of tools.
  • Solder various types of connections.
  • Work closely with other Harness Assembler's and cross check work.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience with wire harness building in aviation or a similar field (automotive, marine).
  • One (1) year of progressively responsible work using instructions, drawings, standards etc. to assemble raw materials.
  • Experience using hand tools such as crimpers, screw drivers, wrenches, drills, files, etc.
  • Good mathematical skills at a high school level or beyond.
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • High level attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good color vision and ability to lift 30 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to tolerate prolonged sitting and standing at various work stations.
  • Proficient in reading and writing skills in the English language.
  • Good data entry skills.
  • Professional demeanor with high standard of ethical behavior.

Nice-to-haves
