About the position
The Manufacturing Technician II at Thermo Fisher Scientific plays a crucial role in producing high-quality copper assemblies while adhering to safety and quality standards. This position involves working with various processes, managing raw materials, and contributing to production goals in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Completion of weekly production work orders.
- Contribute to the process of brazing copper assemblies for cold storage units.
- Manage raw materials and inventory in a kanban system.
- Work within the MRP system to issue materials to work orders and perform from-stock and return-to-stock transactions.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a respirator when required.
- Detail the critical aspects of each production run.
- Involvement in process development and occasional assistance in other work cells.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work safely with various processes and around open flame torch.
- Ability to read and accurately follow Standard Operation Procedures.
- Basic mathematical skills, including a solid understanding of the metric system, unit conversions, and basic calculations.
- Punctual and dependable, consistently arriving to work on time and ready to work.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills for working effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to routinely lift 20-40 lbs.
- A desire to identify and implement continuous improvements.
