About the position

The Manufacturing Technician role at L3Harris Technologies involves working on space flight hardware assembly, requiring adherence to detailed work instructions and strict cleanroom protocols. The technician will support engineering personnel in the manufacturing, integration, and testing of reliable space hardware assemblies, which may include complex electrical integration tasks. This position demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work in a cleanroom environment, ensuring product integrity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate space flight hardware according to detailed work instructions.
• Support engineering personnel in the manufacturing and testing of space hardware assemblies.
• Fabricate, assemble, and align high reliability subassemblies.
• Perform complex electrical integration of thermal electrical subassemblies and components.
• Adhere to cleanroom procedures and contamination control standards.
• Work non-standard shifts during high priority activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 2 years of related experience.
• Experience using basic hand tools such as torque wrenches, wire crimpers, and soldering iron.
• Ability to work in cleanroom environments.

Nice-to-haves

• NASA 8739 certifications for soldering, polymerics, and cable & harness fabrication.
• IPC-J-STD-001 Space Addendum soldering certifications.
• IPC-/WHMA-A620 Space Addendum requirements and acceptance for cable and wire harness assemblies.
• Experience working in large and small team environments.
• Knowledge of foreign object debris (FOD) control and tool control processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and instructions.
