About the position

The Manufacturing Technician at AAM is responsible for supporting and maintaining the day-to-day operations and maintenance needs of the forging operation. This role involves working in a manufacturing facility with heavy equipment, requiring physical stamina and problem-solving skills to ensure the efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations and maintenance needs of the forging operation.
• Define and maintain equipment specifications including pneumatic, hydraulic, and lubrication standards.
• Solve problems and maintain production equipment, including hydraulic, mechanic, and pneumatic systems.
• Work from engineering drawings and equipment specifications.
• Mentor other associates in proper maintenance techniques.
• Complete preventive and diagnostic maintenance requirements on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using measuring instruments.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock and placing orders.
• Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work off-shift (2nd or 3rd shift)
