About the position
The Manufacturing Test Engineer at Ultra Maritime plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing processes related to test support, production line setup, and the development of test station solutions. This position involves collaborating with development engineering to create and maintain test plans and procedures, executing tests, and providing post-test support. The engineer will also focus on production support to meet customer needs, introduce new manufacturing processes, and ensure quality and efficiency in operations.
Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing in all areas related to test support and production line setup.
- Develop manufacturing test components for internal Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
- Create and maintain test plans and test procedures in collaboration with development engineering.
- Execute tests and provide post-test support.
- Research and introduce new manufacturing processes to reduce costs and defects.
- Work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government and military personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in a Test Engineering position.
- Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years of experience in the implementation of Lean principles.
- 6 months+ of mechanical design experience creating test fixtures using Creo, Solidworks, NX or similar CAD tool.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
- LabVIEW experience is a huge plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with Visio.
