About the position
The Manufacturing Test Engineer at Ultra Maritime plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing processes related to test support, production line setup, and the development of test station solutions. This position involves collaborating with development engineering to create and maintain test plans and procedures, execute tests, and provide post-test support. The engineer will also focus on production support to meet customer needs, introduce new manufacturing processes, and ensure the successful introduction of new products.
Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing in all areas related to test support and production line setup.
- Develop test station solutions for Ultra Maritime.
- Create and maintain test plans and procedures in collaboration with development engineering.
- Execute tests and provide post-test support.
- Conduct research to introduce new manufacturing processes to reduce costs and defects.
- Support production to meet customer needs and corporate objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent (ME or EE).
- 4+ years of experience in a Test Engineering position.
- Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years of experience in the implementation of Lean principles.
- 6 months+ of mechanical design experience creating test fixtures using CAD tools like Creo, Solidworks, or NX.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
- LabVIEW experience is a huge plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with Visio.
