About The Position

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer to support Mechanical and High Voltage Lab Testing at our Mount Pleasant and South Greensburg, PA facilities. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and testing processes for high-voltage products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field required.
  • Experience in manufacturing, test engineering, or process engineering (high-voltage equipment experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of high-voltage electrical testing, mechanical testing, and test instrumentation preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, hands-on approach, and ability to work in a lab/manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Python, MATLAB, or similar) is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.
  • Must have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes related to mechanical and high-voltage laboratory testing to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Develop and maintain test setups, fixtures, and automation solutions to enhance testing accuracy and repeatability.
  • Monitor test results, analyze key performance indicators, and identify areas for process optimization. Troubleshoot testing and manufacturing issues related to product performance, safety, and compliance.
  • Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to refine manufacturing and testing methodologies. Drive continuous improvement (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma) initiatives to streamline operations.
  • Ensure all testing procedures meet industry regulations, ISO standards, and Hitachi Energy's safety and integrity policies.
  • Lead or support projects related to process enhancements, new product introductions (NPI), and test equipment upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain detailed work instructions, process flow diagrams, and test procedures to ensure consistency and knowledge retention.
