The role is responsible for process capability, cost reduction, and the implementation of continuous improvement projects within the designated manufacturing unit. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, with a broad overlap between various engineering disciplines. The individual will support capacity planning and growth, define budgeted rates, and ensure thorough process documentation. Compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations is paramount. Regular and punctual attendance is essential, and the ability to communicate effectively in English is required. The role emphasizes the importance of upholding BD Values and fostering a culture of safety and quality in the workplace. The responsibilities include implementing and sustaining BD Excellence work processes, identifying critical equipment settings, and creating standards. The individual will be tasked with creating technical knowledge for the manufacturing unit and transferring this knowledge to operators and technical associates. Training associates on continuous improvement methodologies is a key aspect of the role. The position also involves understanding top losses within the manufacturing unit and developing plans to eliminate these losses while driving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) performance. The individual will be responsible for change control within the manufacturing unit, including validation activities and root cause analysis of prioritized OEE losses and quality events. Additional duties may arise to support business needs, including facilitating quality non-conformance investigations and corrective actions, as well as developing and maintaining machine and process work instructions and manufacturing procedures. Ensuring the safety of all associates and the quality of products is a critical deliverable, alongside ensuring that new manufacturing processes meet unit objectives and that equipment operates efficiently and optimally. The role requires analyzing the current state of equipment efficiency to drive OEE improvement and sustainability.
