About the position

The Mfg. Process Sr. Engineer for the IPU Assembly at Honda is responsible for designing safe and efficient manufacturing processes. This role involves utilizing analytical tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize production functions within the department. The engineer will lead initiatives to improve process efficiency, maintain operational standards, and support new model events, ensuring that Honda's commitment to innovation and quality is upheld.

Responsibilities

  • Design processes for the IPU Department that are safe and efficient.
  • Use M.O.S.T. to develop balanced processes across manufacturing areas.
  • Achieve high Process Efficiency by applying Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Audit and maintain big data to ensure accurate information across all Operations standards.
  • Perform time estimates for Production Processes and develop Operation Standards.
  • Act as the IPU Department Lead for PDDA and MDRS.
  • Lead meetings with other Honda functional groups to develop and launch improvement themes.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency using 5S work methods.
  • Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
  • Support New Model Events and forecast design impact to the department.
  • Maintain accurate AutoCAD department layout.
  • Develop Plans and Schedules for projects and hold meetings with cross-functional engineering groups.
  • Collect feedback from the production floor and address concerns.

Requirements

  • 2-8 years of experience based on education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing) or 6 years of related work experience.
