About the position

The Marine Cargo Surveyor role at Sedgwick involves inspecting cargo that has been damaged during transit, determining the nature and extent of the damages, and providing detailed reports to underwriters and other stakeholders. This position is remote, with travel required to various locations for inspections, and emphasizes a culture of caring and support for employees' professional and personal needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversees loading and unloading of cargo from ships and other forms of transit to document damages as they are loaded and/or unloaded.
• Inspects damaged ships to determine cause of the damage and amount of damage resulting from collisions or motor failures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports the organization's quality program(s).
• Travels as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
• Good customer service skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
