About the position

Core Group Resources is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team in New Orleans. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing electrical systems specifically tailored for marine and offshore projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical systems not only meet technical specifications but also adhere to safety and regulatory standards. This position is crucial for the successful execution of our marine engineering projects, where your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and safety of operations. As a Marine Electrical Engineer, you will engage in a variety of tasks that include the design and development of electrical systems for marine vessels, offshore platforms, and coastal infrastructure. This encompasses power distribution, lighting, and control systems. You will conduct detailed electrical analyses and simulations to guarantee system performance and reliability, preparing and reviewing essential electrical design documentation such as schematics, specifications, and technical reports. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including marine engineers, naval architects, and project managers, to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems into larger projects. You will also oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety regulations. Troubleshooting and resolving electrical system issues during the design, installation, and operational phases will be part of your responsibilities, as will ensuring that all electrical designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, such as IEC, IEEE, and ABS.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5-10 years of experience in marine electrical engineering, with a strong portfolio of marine and offshore electrical projects.
  • Proficiency in electrical design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, MATLAB).
