About the position

The Marine Electronic/Electrical Technician at Hartman Yacht Maintenance is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems on marine vessels. This role requires proficiency in electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, ensuring optimal performance of boat engines, navigation systems, and other electrical components. The technician will work in a mobile capacity, serving clients in the Miami area and beyond, and will be part of an employee-owned company with a commitment to quality service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systems inspections to identify potential electrical issues.
• Monitor equipment performance and detect signs of malfunction.
• Repair defective electrical engines or components.
• Adjust boat components to meet specifications for optimal performance.
• Repair electrical circuits and wiring as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair navigation systems.

Requirements

• 3 years of electrical experience in the marine industry.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle.
• Must own necessary tools for the job.
• Familiarity with engine software diagnostics tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Capability to follow instructions accurately.
• Physical fitness to perform all job duties.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications in Fischer, Panda, Volvo, Penta, or Sealand and Vacuflush systems.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing 2-stroke and 4-stroke outboard engines.
• Willingness to take additional classes or courses for training advancement.
