About The Position
The Town of Fort Myers Beach is seeking a dedicated Marine Operator to join our Marine Operations Department. This full-time position plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our municipal marine facilities, including the Mooring Field and associated waterways. As a Marine Operator, you will be responsible for performing daily maintenance and general upkeep of municipal facilities, ensuring that they are safe and operational for the community and visitors. This role is essential for the recovery and rebuilding efforts of the Town, contributing to a resilient community that stands strong in the face of challenges. In this position, you will engage in a variety of tasks, including routine maintenance of mooring field facilities, inspections of boats and moorings, and providing assistance to the public regarding harbor rules and regulations. You will also be involved in emergency response situations, requiring you to report and carry out duties as directed during emergencies. The role demands a proactive approach to maintenance, including diving to clean mooring systems and conducting minor repairs on boating equipment.
