About the position

Core Group Resources is seeking a highly motivated Marine Sales Engineer to enhance our marine segment product solutions. This remote position is focused on leading marketing and business development activities aimed at identifying, shaping, and capturing business opportunities within the Marine Segment, particularly in the Commercial Marine areas. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of operational and technical experience, along with a proven track record of successfully identifying and securing new business. Building and maintaining strong relationships with staff, customers, end users, and internal colleagues is essential for success in this role. The Marine Sales Engineer will be responsible for creating a robust sales pipeline for marine solutions, which involves new business identification, development, and account management. This includes reviewing project plans, specifications, and other customer documents to qualify and prepare accurate cost estimates based on customer requirements. The role also entails delivering technical sales presentations, addressing technical inquiries, and providing thorough technical analysis for both potential and existing projects in collaboration with engineers and representatives. Additionally, the Marine Sales Engineer will be expected to follow up on leads and prospects generated through various lead-development tactics. Close collaboration with inside Application staff is crucial to develop timely and competitive proposals. A working knowledge of vessel systems, their operation, control, and supporting systems is necessary to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders. The position requires diligent reporting through CRM systems to document interactions, customer contacts, sales calls, and opportunities, ensuring a comprehensive overview of sales activities and progress.

Responsibilities

  • New business identification, shaping/development, and account management.
  • Create a sales pipeline for marine solutions.
  • Review project plans and specifications, and other customer documents to qualify and prepare cost estimates based on customer's requirements.
  • Deliver technical sales presentations, answer technical questions, and provide technical analysis for potential and existing projects in collaboration with engineers and/or representatives.
  • Review and follow-up on leads and prospects developed through lead-development tactics.
  • Work closely with inside Application staff to develop timely and competitive proposals.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of vessel systems and their operation, control, and supporting systems.
  • Complete all necessary reporting via reports and/or CRM system recording interactions, customer contacts, sales calls, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • 8 years of commercial Marine sales experience.
  • Experience working long sales cycles and interacting with ship owners, operators, shipyards, naval architects, marine engineers, and various support disciplines.
  • Ability to work independently to identify leads, meet with customers, and develop solutions.
  • Self-starter, able to take guidance from manager and translate that into activities to establish and strengthen the company's brand presence.
