About the position

The Marine Services Application Engineer will lead the development of technical proposals for service offerings to Marine segment customers, focusing on modernizations, maintenance, training, and parts. This role involves reviewing customer technical requirements and applying GE Vernova Power Conversion solutions to enhance customer experience and optimize technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain responsibility for the Power Conversion Marine Services solutions portfolio.
  • Lead engineering and project teams to develop accurate technical proposals and cost estimates for services solutions.
  • Manage key areas across the Power Conversion Marine Segment, including propulsion, power management, controls and automation, dynamic positioning, and asset performance monitoring.
  • Lead the GE commercial technical risk process and all aspects of the Inquiry to Order process.
  • Work with sourcing to develop third-party industrial partners to enhance growth opportunities.
  • Support customer meetings with technical product differentiators.
  • Optimize technical solutions to enhance margins.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent technical degree.
  • Minimum 8 years of technical experience in Controls & Automation or Power Conversion fields.

Nice-to-haves

  • Direct engineering experience with large complex systems in the Marine segment.
  • Strong track record of working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical solutions, including automation, low & medium-voltage motors, and variable speed drives.
  • Well-rounded business acumen in commercial, technical, and project management.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical solutions for marine customers, including Offshore segment, Merchant segment, United States Navy, and United States Coast Guard.
  • Graduate degree in Engineering.
  • Prior technical sales experience.
  • Strong project time management skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs.
  • Strong coordination and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of customer financial drivers, CAPEX and OPEX.
  • Ability to utilize analytical software and sales tools (CMS, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
