About the position

The Marine Warranty and Vessel Assurance Surveyor position at ABL Group involves conducting maritime surveying tasks and ensuring compliance with international and local regulations. The role is crucial for supporting clients in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean, focusing on Marine Assurance and Dynamic Positioning projects while promoting services to local clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct maritime surveying tasks and inspections for clients in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean.
  • Lead Marine Assurance and Dynamic Positioning projects, ensuring adherence to established protocols and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with international and local regulations, industry standards, and company policies by reviewing relevant documents, equipment specifications, and procedures.
  • Guarantee that all operations, deliverables, and quality of reports align with approved instructions and ABL procedures.
  • Engage in business development activities by promoting Marine Assurance and Dynamic Positioning services to local clients.
  • Follow established control systems and conduct all activities by applicable laws and the Company's QHSE standards and policies.
  • Deliver high-quality documents within deadlines set by management and clients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Hold a Master Maritimer (STCW Class 1), Chief Engineer (STCW Class 1), or equivalent certification with significant experience in maritime survey and consultancy.
  • Proven seagoing experience.
  • Hold IMCA-recognized CMID, OCIMF OVID, and SOMWS accreditations.
  • Demonstrate assertiveness and resilience, with a forward-thinking mindset and high ethical standards.
  • Maintain a professional image and exhibit strong organizational and self-direction capabilities.
  • Possess strong business and commercial acumen.
  • Exhibit a proactive attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Several years of hands-on experience with Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems, including offshore operations and system assessments.
  • Proficient in conducting thorough inspections of vessels, offshore structures, and equipment, with a strong understanding of maritime regulations and industry standards.
  • Skilled in reviewing and interpreting technical documents, plans, and specifications related to DP systems.
  • Committed to meticulousness and precision in all aspects of the role, with awareness of environmental regulations and sustainable maritime practices.
