About the position

The Mark Portfolio Lead is responsible for leading cross-functional activities and programs to define, maintain, optimize, and evolve the UL Mark portfolio strategy and governance framework. This role ensures alignment and consistency across the organization while overseeing the implementation of the portfolio strategy. The Mark Portfolio Lead conducts research to identify stakeholder needs and collaborates with various stakeholders to enhance the value of the UL Mark portfolio as a competitive differentiator.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the performance and market/competitive position of individual UL Marks in the portfolio, identifying strengths/weaknesses and making recommendations to optimize or prune from the portfolio.
  • Drive internal UL Mark portfolio education, governance, and adherence to standards across internal teams.
  • Provide project management and/or advisory support to integrate new Marks from recently acquired companies into the portfolio.
  • Lead research studies on perceptions of UL Marks, including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and competitive threats, and identify recommendations for improving customer experience.
  • Develop and implement a sensing function to identify and act on changing customer and market needs for the UL Mark.
  • Provide guidance to customers and internal resources on the effective use of UL Solutions work and UL Mark for positioning and differentiation.
  • Provide strategic guidance for driving internal processes and digital infrastructure needed to achieve business objectives for the UL Mark portfolio.
  • Maintain business ownership for the Marks and Label Hub digital application, ideating an application roadmap to address customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Provide strategic guidance on the creation of new UL Marks or adaptations to existing UL Marks to achieve business objectives.
  • Work with internal communication and training groups to develop and communicate information about the UL Mark portfolio to internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business success by performing other tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Degree in business, marketing, communication, or a related field.
  • Eight years or more of related experience or demonstrated competency in brand portfolio management.
