About the position

The Portfolio Lead at UL Solutions is responsible for leading cross-functional activities and programs to define, maintain, optimize, and evolve the UL Mark portfolio strategy and governance framework. This role involves overseeing the implementation of the portfolio strategy, conducting research to identify stakeholder needs, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance the value of the UL Mark portfolio. The Portfolio Lead will assess the performance of individual UL Marks, provide strategic guidance for internal processes, and maintain business ownership of the Marks and Label Hub digital application.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional activities to define and optimize the UL Mark portfolio strategy.
  • Oversee the implementation of the portfolio strategy to ensure organizational alignment.
  • Conduct research to identify stakeholder needs and develop recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the value of the UL Mark portfolio.
  • Assess the performance and market position of individual UL Marks and make optimization recommendations.
  • Drive internal education and governance regarding the UL Mark portfolio.
  • Provide project management support for integrating new Marks from acquired companies.
  • Conduct research studies on perceptions of UL Marks and identify improvement recommendations.
  • Develop a sensing function to identify changing customer and market needs.
  • Provide guidance on the effective use of UL Solutions work and UL Mark for positioning.
  • Maintain business ownership for the Marks and Label Hub digital application.
  • Ideate an application roadmap to meet customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Provide strategic guidance on creating new UL Marks or adapting existing ones.
  • Work with internal communication groups to educate stakeholders about the UL Mark portfolio.

Requirements

  • Degree in business, marketing, communication, or a related field.
  • Eight years or more of related experience in brand portfolio management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Project-based budget management and tracking skills.
  • Process improvement and analytical acumen.
  • Strong command of brand asset management, including migration and integration.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and with technical professionals.
  • Demonstrated skill in delivering consultative expertise.
  • Ability to translate complex information for non-scientific audiences.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and internal communication tools.
