About the position

The Market and Operations Analytics Senior Engineer role focuses on applying engineering and analytical techniques to enhance market and operational performance within the energy sector. This position involves analyzing trends, identifying anomalies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making. The engineer will also ensure compliance with industry regulations while developing metrics to measure outcomes and communicate opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering and analytical techniques to assess market and operational performance.
• Analyze trends, identify operational anomalies, and recommend performance enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect, preprocess, and analyze energy market and infrastructure data.
• Conduct ad-hoc engineering analyses to support key business decisions.
• Develop and evaluate metrics for measuring market and operational outcomes.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for market and operational improvements.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, including SOC 1, CIP, FERC, and NERC requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• At least 4 years in Power System Engineering, Simulation, Modeling, Market, and Operations.
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python, SQL) for power system and market studies.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with ISO/RTO markets, operations, or utility experience preferred.
• Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) are a plus.
• Expertise in electricity markets, market dynamics (LMP/FTR), and power systems.
• Proficient in SQL, Python, and data interpretation techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and contribute to a positive work environment.
