The Market Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the overall operations of healthcare facilities within the assigned market, specifically focusing on ensuring high-quality, cost-effective care and services while maintaining a positive financial margin. In this role, the COO is expected to demonstrate strong business acumen and a sophisticated understanding of healthcare funding, particularly in competitive marketplaces. The COO will be tasked with establishing plans to enhance productivity, operational performance, and staff retention, while fostering a culture of quality care. This includes building trust and emerging as a respected leader in key initiatives aimed at improving service quality and employee satisfaction. The COO will also be responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of healthcare delivery are met, with a constant focus on patient care and outcomes. The organizational leadership expectations for the COO include optimizing execution by setting realistic goals and action plans, demonstrating high visibility through interaction with stakeholders, and effectively managing financial and human resources. The ideal candidate will also have a solid understanding of financial indicators and the ability to balance cost and quality issues effectively. An undergraduate degree is required, with an MBA or MHA preferred.
