About The Position

The Market Development Specialist (MDS) at Purple Innovation LLC is responsible for enhancing the success of regional and national accounts within the Wholesale division. This role focuses on maximizing revenue growth and increasing Purple's market share by providing training and resources to retail partners. The MDS will build strong relationships with Retail Sales Associates (RSAs) and store leaders, ensuring they are knowledgeable about Purple's products and effectively merchandising them. The position requires travel to partner stores for training and relationship-building, with a strong emphasis on coaching and sales.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in Indirect Customer Sales.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proven history of success in developing and implementing market-level sales strategies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Salesforce, Outlook, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience in developing or facilitating training content is highly preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
• Ability to travel daily within the market, including overnight and airline travel.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in retail sales training or coaching.
• Background in the mattress or home goods industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct store visits to train Retail Sales Associates (RSAs) on Purple products.
• Build and maintain relationships with store leaders and RSAs.
• Influence store teams to optimize product placement and merchandising.
• Execute one-to-one and group training sessions for RSAs.
• Communicate corporate initiatives to stores and provide field insights to account teams.
• Implement sales incentive programs to motivate RSAs and grow market share.
• Ensure compliance with Purple's brand standards and merchandising in all stores.
