About the position

The Market Director of Clinical Nutrition at Sequoia Hospital is responsible for overseeing the clinical nutrition services within the Central Valley and Central Coast regions. This role involves directing the daily functions of clinical nutrition, managing staff, and ensuring high-quality nutritional care for patients. The director will also be involved in training, performance improvement programs, and advocating for the role of clinical nutrition across facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the functions of clinical nutrition services to provide high-quality nutritional care to patients and clients.
  • Manages the clinical nutrition program within the region, including staffing and daily work activities.
  • Conducts interviews, hires, orients, terminates, promotes, trains, and evaluates performance of clinical nutrition staff.
  • Establishes goals and oversees implementation of clinical nutrition care based on medical direction and patient population.
  • Assesses, develops, and revises nutritional care plans for various patient demographics.
  • Evaluates and coordinates hospital nutrition formulary for the region.
  • Plans regular and modified menus based on the current diet manual.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and successful completion of surveys with no deficiencies.
  • Drives performance improvement and quality management projects.
  • Visits patients to ensure they receive necessary nutritional care during their hospital stay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related field (Master's Degree required for 2024 graduates).
  • Three years of acute hospital or similar experience working with patients, including complex levels of care.
  • Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Valid dietitian licensure if required by state.
  • Current certification as a ServSafe Food Protection Manager and ServSafe Allergen certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior management experience in clinical nutrition management or foodservice management.
