About the position

The Market Facing Underwriting Manager II - Management Liability at Zurich is a key role responsible for underwriting and analyzing management liability accounts, particularly for public companies. This position requires a strong market presence, with expectations to be visible in the marketplace 25% of the time. The role involves managing a team of underwriters, developing agency and broker relationships, and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varying level of junior and senior level underwriters.
• Generate, underwrite, and analyze Management Liability Risk business for Public Companies.
• Engage in market facing and production activities.
• Comply with underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules.
• Develop and maintain agency and broker relationships.
• Work within broad limits and authorities on complex assignments related to the East Region Public Company D&O portfolio.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
• OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area AND 2 or more years of management experience.
