About the position

The Market of Choice Central Kitchen is seeking a Kitchen Production Manager to join our state-of-the-art production facility in Eugene, OR. This role is pivotal in overseeing the production of high-quality food items that are supplied to our various store locations. The Kitchen Production Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager and Assistant Operations Manager to ensure that all food products, including soups, salads, marinades, sauces, spice kits, and charcuterie, are produced efficiently and meet our quality standards. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.50 to $23.50, depending on experience, along with bonus opportunities. In this leadership role, the Kitchen Production Manager will not only supervise the kitchen staff but also actively participate in the production process. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food quality and a commitment to creating an inspiring work environment. This position requires a hands-on approach to managing kitchen operations, including ordering and maintaining inventory of fresh, frozen, and sundry products, training new teammates, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Kitchen Production Manager will also be responsible for developing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste, while maintaining positive relationships with customers, vendors, and employees. Responsibilities

  • Supervise, organize, and manage all kitchen employees.
  • Work directly with the Operations Manager and Chef to ensure timely order production.
  • Order and maintain inventory of fresh, frozen, and sundry products for use in the department.
  • Train new teammates in kitchen operations and procedures.
  • Supervise production to ensure it meets Market of Choice quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to develop processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Maintain positive relations with customers, vendors, and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety sanitation requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a kitchen management role or similar position.
  • Ability to follow standard recipes and procedures.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Current Food Handler's Card or willingness to obtain one prior to employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in high-volume food production.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff.
