About the position

The Assistant Community Manager at USA Multifamily Management, Inc. plays a crucial support role in managing the operations of The AJ Family Apartments, a 345-unit conventional market-rate community. This position involves collaborating closely with the Community Manager to ensure effective marketing strategies, compliance with lease administration, and addressing resident concerns. The role requires a strong focus on customer service and operational excellence, with responsibilities that include monitoring marketing efforts, processing applications, and maintaining compliance with various housing regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor marketing efforts and develop new strategies.
  • Collect outstanding balances and ensure compliance with lease administration.
  • Process applications and resident requests.
  • Handle resident concerns as directed by the Community Manager.
  • Maintain compliance with all general and property-specific regulations, including LIHTC and other program requirements.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and process as directed by the Compliance Department.
  • Ensure timely completion of initial applications and resident recertifications.
  • Lead by example to maintain a service-oriented environment.
  • Promote resident satisfaction and retention by resolving complaints and addressing service issues.
  • Review resident files and ledger records to determine unpaid fees and communicate with residents regarding outstanding balances.
  • Assist with inspecting vacant units and overall community upkeep.
  • Support Leasing Associates in leasing apartments and ensure compliance with company policies and Fair Housing guidelines.
  • Facilitate and oversee resident events to create customer loyalty and retention.
  • Oversee community operations in the absence of the Community Manager.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in on-site apartment leasing; leadership role preferred.
  • Tax-credit experience required; market-rate/conventional experience preferred.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of YARDI Voyager, Site Manager, CRM Flex, EliseAI, Snappt, YES Energy, DoorKing, ButterflyMX, Spectrum or similar PMS programs.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Management of on-site staff and resources.
  • Successful track record of meeting property goals and optimizing asset performance.
  • Valid CA driver's license & reliable transportation.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • California Certified Residential Manager (CCRM), Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Accredited Residential Manager (ARM), Certified Apartment Leasing Professional (CALP) or related credential preferred.
