About the position

The Market Research Analyst, Consumer & Marketplace Insights position is a key role within the marketing team at Sylvania, focusing on consumer and retail marketing strategies. This role involves utilizing research skills and analytical expertise to uncover insights that drive marketing and business decisions. The analyst will work closely with the marketing team to define research objectives, execute projects, and deliver actionable insights that enhance the understanding of consumer dynamics and market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the marketing team to define major research objectives and develop project plans.
  • Enrich the organization's knowledge of consumer trends and identify insights and opportunities.
  • Support the development of learning plans for consumer insights research across the portfolio.
  • Execute research to support innovation development and brand strategy.
  • Build narratives using POS data and other relevant data points.
  • Activate consumer learnings across Marketing, Sales, and Product Management teams.
  • Ensure continuous evolution of the Insights function and enhance consumer insights delivery.
  • Uncover strategic insights using consumer research and data to shape marketing strategy.
  • Define KPIs and metrics to track progress and impact of initiatives, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted partner to cross-functional teams by being a subject matter expert.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Market Research, Marketing Analytics, Consumer Insights & Data Analytics, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field required; MBA or related master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in Consumer Insights/Market Research, preferably in CPG.
  • Proficiency in research methodologies including qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Experience with brand health tracking and UX studies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead effective meetings.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with marketing and research analytics tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with retail environments and understanding of shopper behavior.
  • Strong retail knowledge with experience in POG redesign evaluation.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and market trends.
