About the position

The Market Research Analyst position at Mercury Broadband is a critical role responsible for providing comprehensive market research and analysis to support the Marketing, Sales, and Product teams. This position is essential for understanding market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and customer needs, which are vital for driving business growth and strategic decision-making. The analyst will engage in various analytical tasks, including market research, competitive analysis, trending analysis, attribution modeling, and channel and ROI analysis. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying market opportunities and threats, ensuring that Mercury Broadband remains competitive in the rapidly evolving telecommunications industry. In this position, the Market Research Analyst will conduct ongoing market analysis across all Mercury Broadband markets, monitoring and evaluating business trends, marketing and sales KPIs, and overall business results. The analyst will track local competitors, recommend adjustments to products, pricing, and promotions, and conduct customer surveys to gather insights. Additionally, the role involves performing pricing analysis to determine optimal price levels that drive demand and collaborating with the Marketing and Operations teams to evaluate potential wireless and fiber network expansion opportunities. The Market Research Analyst will also be responsible for interpreting data, formulating reports, and making actionable recommendations to senior management. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, the ability to interpret large datasets, and familiarity with various research tools and methodologies. The analyst will play a key role in advising the company on strategic initiatives based on data-driven insights, ultimately contributing to the overall success of Mercury Broadband's mission to provide high-speed internet access to underserved communities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-going market analysis across Mercury Broadband markets to monitor and evaluate business trends, marketing and sales KPI's, and overall business results.
  • Track local competitors and recommend adjustments to Mercury Broadband products, pricing and promotions as needed to respond to any competitive threats.
  • Conduct customer surveys and research on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform pricing analysis to evaluate current pricing and recommend optimum price levels for driving demand.
  • Work with Marketing and Operations teams to conduct market and economic analysis to evaluate potential wireless and fiber network expansion opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends across our industry and local service center areas to identify opportunities or threats to our business and growth plan.
  • Review campaigns and free trial conversion optimization efforts.
  • Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations.
  • Gather and analyze statistical data using modern and traditional methods to collect it.
  • Advise senior management on the best ways to use provided data.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of successful market research and/or market analysis work.
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data.
  • Search engine, web analytics and business research tools acumen.
  • Familiarity with CRM programs.
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing, modeling and mining.
  • Experience in telecom or technology industry.
  • Experience working with Marketing and Sales teams.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding established goals.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of best practices.
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office platforms for analysis and presentation.
  • Strong communicator and presentation skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve, including metric-driven thinking.
