About the position

As a Market Research Analyst at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara Santa Barbara, you will play a crucial role in managing the rooms inventory to maximize revenue for the hotel cluster. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the accuracy of information and enhancing automation efforts within the reservation system. You will assist in preparing competitive analyses and other supporting documents for market sales strategy meetings, ensuring that the hotel remains competitive in the market. Additionally, you will manage room authorizations, rates, and restrictions, effectively communicating these strategies to the properties involved. Your role will also encompass performing month-end reporting and auditing for Revenue Management, providing forward-looking information that aids in forecasting and targeting areas that need attention. You will be responsible for generating, processing, and updating all property and market Revenue Management reports, serving as the primary source for the Revenue Management team's reporting and analytical needs. System maintenance will be part of your duties, including inputting rate hurdles, monitoring forecasted demand, updating group forecasting, and conducting daily system checks. Training new associates on revenue management tools will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to implement hotel sales strategies effectively. You will be expected to follow all company policies and procedures, maintain a professional appearance, and protect the confidentiality of proprietary information. Your role will require you to welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate their service needs, and develop positive working relationships with colleagues. You will also need to comply with quality assurance expectations and standards, ensuring that all tasks are performed to the highest standards of service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of rooms inventory to maximize cluster rooms revenue.
  • Maintain accuracy of information and enhance automation efforts in the reservation system.
  • Prepare competitive analysis and supporting documents for market sales strategy meetings.
  • Manage room authorizations, rates, and restrictions, communicating strategies to properties.
  • Perform Revenue Management month-end reporting and auditing, providing forward-looking information for forecasting.
  • Generate, process, and update all property and market Revenue Management reports.
  • Assist with system maintenance, including inputting rate hurdles and monitoring forecasted demand.
  • Train new associates on revenue management tools as necessary.
  • Implement hotel sales strategies in the reservation and inventory systems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1-year related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • No specific license or certification required.
