About the position

The Market Research/Customer Insights Analyst at Pacific Life plays a crucial role in supporting the life product intelligence function through comprehensive research and analysis of markets, customers, competition, and product mix. This hybrid position allows for flexibility in work location, empowering employees to balance their work both in and out of the office. The analyst will maintain benchmarking dashboards, conduct competitive assessments, and provide strategic insights to inform product development and pricing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain multiple benchmarking dashboards to dynamically compare competitive and sales metrics.
  • Provide reverse engineering support of competitor products.
  • Conduct stress tests on new product designs.
  • Assist in conducting comprehensive competitive assessments.
  • Support annuity deep-dive assessments as needed.
  • Analyze competitors, identifying their strengths, weaknesses, and market positioning.
  • Provide strategic insight that can inform product development, pricing, and market strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required with emphasis in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
  • College level math skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Complex problem-solving and issue resolution skills.
  • Experience with Tableau/Power BI.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Qlik and Tableau a plus.
  • Experience with Turbo, Python, SQL and Alteryx a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
