The Market Risk Manager will play a crucial role in the Financial Risk and Governance (FR&G) team, which is dedicated to the effective identification, measurement, monitoring, and control of market, liquidity, and stress testing related to the clearing and settlement processes for DTCC, its members, and the markets. This position involves providing critical governance and quality assurance capabilities for key risk functions designed to meet meticulous organizational and regulatory standards. The FR&G team collaborates closely with Quantitative Risk Management and Counterparty Credit Risk teams to maintain an integrated approach to financial risk management, supporting an effective second line of defense. As a member of the Fixed Income Clearing Corporation (FICC), the Market Risk Manager is responsible for monitoring daily margin calculations and managing market and liquidity risk exposures arising from trade execution and settlement activities. This role includes driving new business initiatives, leading risk systems design, ensuring compliance with Risk Management policies, and understanding margining methodologies. The Market Risk Manager will also collaborate with other DTCC teams to identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risks, safeguarding the financial market in which DTCC plays a pivotal role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of market risk associates and analysts across global offices.
  • Review, evaluate and sign off on daily work and other deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of work performed.
  • Proactively identify and evaluate changes in member's market risk exposures, liquidity needs, and settlement obligations, providing solutions to mitigate exposures.
  • Monitor market conditions and economic trends to anticipate potential risks and their impact on members' margin requirements.
  • Mitigate risk by ensuring adherence to processes, policies, and procedures, while spotting potential key model and report errors.
  • Manage issues arising from internal audits, regulatory exams, and risk assessments, collaborating with partners to develop and implement remediation plans.
  • Work on projects and operational improvements to effectively mitigate emerging risks in support of new and existing products.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
