About the position

Huntington Bank is seeking a Market Risk Specialist to join its Market Risk Oversight team. This role involves assisting with the independent evaluation of market risk, monitoring market risk exposures, conducting assumption reviews, and performing data analysis. The specialist will also contribute to business process improvements and participate in various risk management initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that Interest Rate Risk measurement by the Bank is complete and accurate by independently monitoring daily positions, key risk drivers and trends, and risk exposures above the Bank's appetite.
• Continuously improve the Bank's understanding of Market Risk exposure through the development of better analytical tools.
• Support quarterly risk assessments by providing insightful data analytics and presentations.
• Challenge risk modeling assumptions through engagement with Corporate Treasury.
• Verify data and system settings by performing detailed reviews.
• Coordinate the creation of informative presentations for Committee meetings.
• Support ad-hoc high priority projects from Senior Management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related degree.
• 1-3 years of experience in Treasury, Asset & Liability Management, or Corporate Risk Management/Audit of these areas.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and aptitude to learn other software and database management tools.
• Ability to multi-task effectively and deliver to deadlines with limited direction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an understanding of the concept of materiality.
• Ability to collaborate and foster teamwork in a matrix environment.
• Ability to build efficient and repeatable processes with a focus on risk management.
