Responsibilities
- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
- Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
- Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
- Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Tests equipment for proper working order and reports equipment problems to supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
- Must be able to pass Cardiac Telemetry Examination upon hire.
- Successfully complete Cardiac Telemetry Certification Course within 30 days of hire date, then annually.
