About the position

We are seeking a Marketing Professional to join our team at Sherman Village Healthcare Center. The primary purpose of this position is to develop, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive marketing plan that aligns with the facility's strengths and objectives. The goal is to meet and exceed monthly targets for increasing the facility's census, ensuring an appropriate mix of Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care, and private payer patients, all in accordance with current federal, state, and local guidelines as directed by management and/or the Administrator. The Marketing Director will play a crucial role in fostering a respectful and dignified environment for all patients. This includes treating each patient fairly and kindly, referring to them by name, and communicating clearly, empathetically, and effectively with patients, family members, visitors, staff, and governmental agencies. The role requires collaboration with the facility's multidisciplinary team to assess potential patients' acuity and financial requirements, ensuring that the facility's standards are met. In addition to these responsibilities, the Marketing Director will be committed to ethical practices and will always strive to do the right thing. This position requires a proactive approach to marketing and admissions, with a focus on building relationships and maintaining a positive reputation within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement a marketing plan with clear objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Administrator to ensure census goals are met.
  • Submit a weekly calendar of scheduled marketing appointments to the Administrator.
  • Make daily contact with acute care case managers, social workers, discharge planners, and physicians.
  • Manage patient family relationships and meet with them upon admissions to ensure completion of required admission paperwork.
  • Assess potential patients in local hospitals and answer their questions about the facility.
  • Maintain a database of physician and case manager contacts and profiles.
  • Participate in local community events to promote visibility and increase facility's census.
  • Follow the operational budget and attend daily stand-up meetings.
  • Oversee inquiries from physicians and hospital discharge planners, responding to all referrals within 15 minutes of receipt.
  • Ensure all new admissions have proper documentation for PDPM compliance.
  • Keep updated with Medicare/Medicaid regulations governing admission and discharge requirements.
  • Report any occupational exposures to hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately.
  • Protect patient/resident files and data confidentially per HIPAA standards.
  • Abide by all facility policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 - 5 years of marketing/admissions experience in healthcare.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 including Booster shots.
  • Previous experience in marketing or related fields.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
