About the position

As a Marketing Analytics Director on the Insurance Marketing Analytics Team at USAA, you will lead efforts to provide decision support for marketing initiatives across various channels. This role involves applying advanced analytical techniques to derive insights and recommendations that drive strategic change, while also mentoring team members and overseeing the analytics agenda.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with channel management team to develop and implement optimization strategies across all marketing channels.
  • Analyze performance across channels, including digital, social, and traditional media to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead or collaborate with other analytical leaders in executing the strategic direction of the business using mathematical and statistical techniques.
  • Develop team reputation as highly skilled experts in decision science support.
  • Oversee and coordinate analytical tasks including evaluation of business problems and presentation of findings.
  • Monitor and adopt emerging technology that can affect scientific methodologies and quantitative analytical approaches.
  • Identify additional resource needs and provide business rationale for them.
  • Set the analytic direction and create strategies to influence business and drive change.
  • Build and oversee a team through recruiting, development, retention, and performance management.
  • Mentor team members on mathematical skills and statistical techniques.
  • Maintain knowledge of data analysis tools and relevant industry data & methods.
  • Research and pursue industry-leading practices in data and analytics.
  • Work with IT/CTO partners to advance new data and platforms.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively managed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative analytics field or 4 years of related experience in statistics, mathematics, or quantitative analytics.
  • 8 years of experience in a decision support analytic function or an advanced degree with 6 years of experience.
  • 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.
  • Expert skills in mathematical and statistical techniques to influence business strategy.
  • Modern knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, and analysis software.
  • Experience with new and emerging data sets and their incorporation into insights.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 or more years of marketing analytics experience focusing on measurement, testing, and performance analysis.
  • Deep experience with measurement tools that drive optimization decisions.
  • Hands-on experience within the insurance or financial services industry providing analytics solutions.
  • US military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
