About the position

The Holgate Center is seeking an energetic candidate for the position of EVP of Marketing and Admissions to serve our three levels of care: Independent Living, Resident Care Facility, and Skilled Nursing. This role is crucial in understanding the insurance and billing needs for each level of care while maintaining a compassionate approach to the changing needs and circumstances of residents seeking care and housing. The successful candidate will lead census development and occupancy management to achieve financial goals while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations, as well as established facility policies and procedures. The EVP of Marketing and Admissions will be responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the overall operation of the Admissions department. This includes developing census goals while maintaining compliance with current laws and regulations. The role requires evaluating and adjusting admission practices based on occupancy goals, visiting potential residents in nonclinical settings, and ensuring collaboration between the business office and admissions office to achieve shared goals. Additionally, the EVP will develop and implement a sales strategy to build and maintain strong relationships with referral partners such as hospitals, physicians, and senior centers. The position requires being available on-site for at least 40 hours per week to assist with tours, admissions, transfers, and discharges. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of available beds, processing referrals timely, and ensuring compliance with mental health screening requirements. The role demands strong interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and a commitment to promoting teamwork and mutual respect within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the overall operation of the Admissions department.
  • Evaluate and adjust admission practices based on occupancy goals.
  • Visit potential residents in nonclinical settings.
  • Ensure collaboration between the business office and admissions office.
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to build relationships with referral partners.
  • Be available on-site for at least 40 hours per week for tours, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Maintain accurate records of available beds and process referrals timely.
  • Ensure compliance with mental health screening requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the census sales strategy with admissions team members.
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members regarding room assignments for pending admissions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in census development and occupancy management in a nursing home or related healthcare facility.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing community collaterals in conjunction with administrators.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid eligibility criteria and financial evaluation processes.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess facility fiscal health.
