About the position

The Marketing and Advertising Manager will play a crucial role in promoting a small non-profit performing arts organization, specifically focusing on raising awareness and increasing ticket sales for concerts. This position involves developing marketing strategies, managing communications, and leading fundraising efforts to support the organization's mission and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and present a complete season marketing plan to the board within the approved budget.
  • Manage the organization's website and social media to ensure consistency in ticket sales and marketing efforts.
  • Create and implement promotional materials for the full season and individual concerts, including direct marketing activities and advertising materials.
  • Ensure annual objectives are met for the sale of ad space in the season program book and other platforms.
  • Manage all ticket sales, including promotions and group sales, both online and at concerts.
  • Initiate sales promotions as necessary to boost ticket sales.
  • Supervise venue relationship programs to maximize support from venues.
  • Ensure online calendar submissions for all ticketed concert events are accurate and timely.
  • Develop public relations activities to promote the organization and individual concerts.
  • Track and analyze social media and web metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and make recommendations.
  • Implement fundraising communications through e-blasts, mailers, and special events.
  • Promote and sell tickets to special events such as Bachfest and galas.
  • Write grant applications and identify new sources of grants each season.
  • Use publicity and PR tools to recruit new choir members throughout the year.
  • Be flexible to work on other tasks as requested by the Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Highly organized and proactive with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong expertise with WordPress and database management (Donor Perfect).
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working with diverse groups.
  • Ability to collaborate on projects with internal members and external vendors.
  • Professional presentation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Entrepreneurial personality with a positive attitude toward work.
  • Passion for classical music and a desire to promote the organization.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and experience working remotely.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher is required.
  • Previous experience in the performing arts and/or non-profit sector is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Drive.
  • A sense of and appreciation for good graphic design.
