About the position

The Marketing and Client Development Coordinator at Shumaker will play a vital role in supporting the local Sarasota office and the broader Marketing and Business Development team. This position requires a strong understanding of the local business community and the ability to connect opportunities with the firm's capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in marketing, communications, or business development, along with excellent writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support Marketing Managers with administrative event logistics, website updates, pitches, and social media posts.
  • Understand the core service line capabilities and industry sectors of the attorneys and advisors across Shumaker.
  • Provide marketing and business development administrative support for various key service lines and sector teams.
  • Maintain and update individual attorney membership and office membership/directory profile content, as well as prospect lists.
  • Create social media materials across all platforms, tailored to each platform's unique marketing practices.
  • Prepare and assemble marketing responses to inquiries with support from the Proposal and Client Development Coordinator.
  • Organize cards, gifts, and promotional items for distribution.
  • Assist with and/or execute events, both virtual and in-person, in conjunction with other Marketing Managers.
  • Research prospects for specific individual attorneys, service lines, and/or business sector teams.
  • Harvest new contacts for the CRM database and provide data on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Identify press opportunities in the local Sarasota media market.
  • Track office budget and invoices, and manage vendor correspondence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, and/or business development.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Strong social media marketing skills.
  • High competency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Canva.
  • Proficient in copy editing.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong team support skills.
