The Marketing and Communications Coordinator (Social Media) at the University of Pittsburgh plays a vital role in enhancing the university's presence across various platforms. This position is responsible for creating written editorial content for both print and electronic mediums, as well as managing web content to ensure timely information dissemination. The coordinator will institute procedures for effective information gathering, ensuring that messaging is consistent and aligns with the university's brand and style guidelines. In this role, the coordinator will manage departmental social media accounts, creating engaging graphic design content tailored for these platforms. They will also develop and manage initiatives related to marketing, advertising, social media, and brand development. A significant part of the job involves researching and analyzing current social media communications efforts, recommending changes as necessary, and strategizing future initiatives based on best practices. Additionally, the coordinator will act as a backup resource for department experts, ensuring coverage across various media formats, including web, email, photography/video, and graphic design. The role may also involve participation in special projects and events, such as Pitt Arrival and Student Move-out, as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Managing departmental social media accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in marketing or communications.
  • Combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education and/or experience requirement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with graphic design software.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
