About the position

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Maryville College plays a pivotal role in supporting the Clayton Center for the Arts (CCA) team by enhancing brand recognition and executing strategic marketing initiatives for various events. This position is integral to the promotion of the CCA, requiring collaboration with guest services, artistic programming, and the executive director to ensure cohesive messaging to the public. The coordinator will be responsible for managing the CCA's online presence, including maintaining and developing content for the CCA website and engaging with audiences through social media platforms. In addition to digital marketing efforts, the coordinator will generate media relations activities, which include writing press releases, maintaining a digital news archive, and participating in strategic communication efforts. The role also involves brand management, where the coordinator will uphold and communicate CCA brand guidelines, coordinate the design and development of promotional materials, and manage all print materials from posters to advertisements. The position requires a commitment to community engagement, as the coordinator will participate in local events to promote the CCA brand. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and implement a digital strategy that includes planning and budgeting for digital advertisements on platforms such as Spotify and YouTube, as well as writing and managing content for digital and social media channels. This role is essential for ensuring that the CCA's marketing and communication strategies are effectively executed, thereby enhancing the visibility and reputation of the center within the community and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop content for the CCA website
  • Generate media relations activities, including writing press releases and media alerts, maintaining a digital news archive, and participating in strategic communication efforts
  • Collaborate and manage relationships with MC Marketing/Comm and digital media consultants for CCA marketing efforts
  • Maintain and communicate CCA brand guidelines
  • Participate in community events to promote CCA brand
  • Coordinate designing and developing collateral materials for publications and promotions
  • Manage all print materials- from posters to print advertisements
  • Support Guest services and Advancement with email communications regarding content, design, and layout
  • Develop social media management to increase engagement with CCA events
  • Plan, place and budget for digital ads with Spotify, YouTube, and related outlets
  • Write and manage content for digital and social media

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field
  • Two to three years' related experience with an organization growing and promoting a brand
  • Demonstrated experience in social media engagement
  • Experience in the arts is beneficial
  • Superior organizational and communication skills
  • Professional integrity, including a thorough understanding of confidentiality
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, EMS, Raiser's Edge, and ticketing software
