About the position

The Marketing Communications Manager will support the Division of Student Development at Loyola University Chicago by developing and executing strategic marketing and communication plans aimed at enhancing the division's brand and engaging various audiences, including current students, faculty, staff, alumni, and donors. This role involves collaboration with university leadership and stakeholders to create impactful content across multiple channels, manage digital presence, and oversee marketing initiatives that align with institutional goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing communications plans to raise the division's reputation and awareness.
  • Engage current students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and external audiences through effective communication strategies.
  • Align division marketing and communication with the institutional brand.
  • Steward the brand of the division and ensure messaging aligns with Loyola's mission and vision.
  • Create and distribute compelling content across all communication channels.
  • Provide strategic oversight for digital channels, including social media and website content.
  • Collaborate with UMC and division content owners for email outreach and digital presence improvement.
  • Consult on event promotion and strategy for major initiatives.
  • Coordinate crisis communications in collaboration with UMC Communications Team.
  • Supervise the hiring and management of student workers and freelance assistance as needed.
  • Establish budgets in coordination with division and UMC leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of full-time experience in marketing communications.
  • Exceptional written communication skills and talent for digital storytelling.
  • Demonstrated digital marketing experience, including social media, email, and content marketing.
  • Experience creating and implementing integrated marketing communications plans with measurable KPIs.
  • Understanding of media relations and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Basic design skills and experience with web content management systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with PK-12/higher education and/or agency models.
  • Experience with T4, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and video editing tools.
