About the position

The Marketing and Communications Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting various marketing and communication initiatives for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. This position involves coordinating departmental projects, creating digital content, managing social media, and facilitating public relations logistics, all aimed at enhancing the organization's outreach and engagement within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Supports marketing and communication functions in the GIMV region for Goodwill and affiliated entities.
  • Maintains and updates social media, email, and other content calendars for regional promotional efforts.
  • Ideates content and imagery for locally-based social media accounts.
  • Prepares content/copy and imagery for locally based email communications.
  • Obtains photography and videography and provides basic graphic development of supporting imagery for content needs.
  • Partners with MARCOM leadership to support the development of external communications, including newsletters, brochures, and flyers.
  • Collaborates with local leadership to identify and recommend content and media opportunities.
  • Supports in gathering marketing insights, data, and metrics to track and evaluate performance.
  • Works within team project management software (Asana) to update tasks/projects.
  • Provides support for in-person activations as needed.
  • Monitors incoming project requests to identify areas of immediate support when needed.
  • Provides on-site public relations support for media segments and other communications needs.
  • Supports in the writing of organizational communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of marketing, communications, or relevant experience in a professional setting.
  • Ability to prioritize and guide tactical functions with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated multitasking and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with entry-level design and photography skills.
  • Experience in social media and email content development and platform execution.
  • Experience working with email software platforms, including backend setup and list management.
  • Proficient in speaking and reading English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management software (Asana)
  • Basic graphic design skills
