About the position

The Marketing and Communications Strategic Coordinator I at SEIU 775 Benefits Group is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance awareness and engagement for caregiver benefits, while promoting caregiving as a professional healthcare career. This role requires independent project management, strategic planning, and tactical execution to support the organization's mission of improving the caregiver workforce through innovative benefits and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement marketing and communications plans to build awareness and engagement in pilots and projects using a multi-channel, integrated marketing approach.
  • Lead content creation, planning, implementation, and curation for all communications channels for assigned programs and campaigns, including mail, email, text, phone, social media, video, PowerPoint presentations, and print collateral.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to devise strategies and tactics to meet organizational goals.
  • Work with vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Partner on organizational publications and special events.
  • Provide administrative support for the Marketing and Communications team as needed.
  • Perform other duties commensurate with the level of this position.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in communications or marketing or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1-3+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or comparable experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of project management expertise, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent eye for visual communication with superior oral and written communication skills including copyediting.
  • Great strategic communication ability.
  • Experience managing projects with tight timelines and multiple customers and stakeholders.
  • Experience in the strategic planning and implementation of marketing and/or communications programs and campaigns.
  • Expertise with digital analytics, A/B testing, and audience segmentation.
  • Ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner.
  • Proven customer service orientation, with team building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), WordPress, Microsoft products including PowerPoint, and social media platforms.

  • Expertise in mission-based communications and marketing, in the healthcare, education, or retirement fields.
  • Experience with localization best practices and writing for a culturally diverse audience.
  • Experience building relationships with internal leaders and teams.
