About the position

The Town of Miami Lakes is seeking a creative and on-site Marketing and Digital Services Specialist to coordinate branding, marketing, and creative work to further the Town's initiatives. This role involves managing the Town's digital and social media networks to enhance community engagement and visibility of programs, events, and news, while also assisting with special events and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and roll out of communications and marketing plans.
  • Photograph and video activities at Town events for social media and website.
  • Attend Town sponsored events and meetings, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Coordinate video projects, including production and editing.
  • Assist with writing and production of Town e-blasts using email marketing platforms.
  • Update the Town's website as needed.
  • Coordinate video streaming for communications-related activities.
  • Develop content for social media accounts and consult with departments regarding outreach and messaging.
  • Manage Town's social media accounts to ensure appropriate messaging and professional integrity.
  • Create graphic materials, flyers, and social media collateral as the Town graphic designer.
  • Analyze social media performance metrics and develop recommendations for content effectiveness.
  • Assist with writing, proofreading, and editing of content and print production materials.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Video Production, or related field.
  • Minimum of one year experience in the field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Understanding of graphic design concepts and management of multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience with design software suites such as Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft programs.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Copy editing and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, vendors, and the public.
  • Knowledge of digital content, social media, and promotion of municipal activities.
